Job Description

Focus on Children United for Success (FOCUS) is seeking a CompTIA A+ IT Instructor to teach A+ Core 1 and Core 2 content mapped to exam objectives (220-1101 and 220-1102).

We are looking for experts in the field to help our students become subject matter experts in the IT field. You will have access to CompTIA’s tech industry tools, i.e., their video demonstrations of key activities, the practice exam questions to administer to students for understanding, PowerPoint slides to assist in classroom delivery, and access to the CompTIA Learning Center.

  • Lecture the class on hardware, installation, programming, maintenance, networking, routing, troubleshooting and repair of computers and other IT equipment, follow an outline, use handouts, perform hands on experience.
  • Administer written and practical drills, exams and complete student progress reports.
  • Collaborate with curriculum developer and subject matter expert to determine teaching style and understanding of curriculum.
  • Maintain students grades and attendance records and report to training coordinator on student performance.
  • Manage all classroom issues and communicate with training coordinator any non-manageable classroom issues.
  • Stay current with required industry certification requirements and provide students with resources to do the same.
  • Participate in student selection interview process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have your CompTIA A+ certification
  • Five -to-10 years’ experience in the IT field or classroom instruction
  • Great organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Innovative thinker when it comes to teaching methodologies and curriculum implementation
  • Thorough understanding of Google classroom design
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the content materials both theory, principle, and the certification requirements
  • Demonstrate the capabilities of setting priorities and moving several tasks forward simultaneously.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in applying adult learning principles.

Nice to have:
Knowledge and understanding of Mix-Reality learning tools and platforms, experience with MR training and curriculum development. – yes, we are moving into the future.
